Reservoir

For several years now there has been talk of building a reservoir on farmland south of Abingdon. Although Abingdon is a place I know very well, having grown up there, the proposed site is somewhere I have never visited. Better late than never, so I have taken a few trips out to photograph the landscape. Following marked footpaths I tried to record an area that may not exist for much longer.

Collages

Not really a project as such, but a collection of collages I have made over the past few years. There is no over-arching theme to these other than wanting to see what it would look like

Charity Shop

I sometimes feel for objects in charity shops. How long have they been there and will they ever be sold? If they were sentient and could decide for themselves, where would they choose to be?

With the power of a (very) small god, I began to purchase objects from my local Oxfam with the intention of finding the perfect location that the object itself might like to be. Just a bit of whimsy but an interesting exercise.

Each object was returned to charity after I had finished.

Possessions Spectrum

I was prompted to create this after reading ‘The World According to Colour’ by James Fox. I was intrigued to see if I could find objects in my house that could be used to create a spectrum. I had to compromise a bit by only using six colours as the basis. However since Isaac Newton may have added indigo to the spectrum purely because he thought there ought to be seven colours, I feel excused.

I took photographs of each object individually against a black background, and ctreated a composite image using eighteen source images, so that there are three for each of the six colours in the spectrum
